WATCH Sussex follows what happens after we ask questions, request records or raise matters for scrutiny — including when nothing changes.
Used only where evidence establishes that a WATCH request, question or intervention directly produced the outcome — for example, records disclosed specifically in response to our FOI.
Used where evidence supports a material WATCH contribution, but other people, processes or events also contributed.
The change happened after WATCH raised the issue, but we have not established that WATCH caused or accelerated it.
Several WATCH enquiries and information requests are active. Their eventual outcomes will be recorded here whether they produce disclosure, clarification, correction, formal scrutiny, action, a commitment, or no change.
This keeps the record useful without turning ordinary correspondence into self-promotion.
| Outcome | What it means |
|---|---|
| Information disclosed | Records or data entered the public record through a WATCH request. |
| Position clarified | A public body or office-holder answered a material question that was previously unclear. |
| Record corrected | Published information was amended after an evidenced WATCH challenge or correction request. |
| Action taken | A body took a measurable action. Causation is assessed separately. |
| Scrutiny triggered | The matter entered a formal scrutiny, audit or governance process. |
| Commitment made | A responsible body made a specific, trackable commitment. |
| No change | WATCH asked; the evidence shows no resulting change. |
