WATCH finding

STRONG PARLIAMENTARY RECORD — DECLARED INTERESTS REVIEWED — NO MISCONDUCT FINDING — ACCOUNTABILITY QUESTIONS UNANSWERED AT THE EDITORIAL CUT-OFF.

WATCH Sussex has completed its accountability review of Jess Brown-Fuller, Liberal Democrat MP for Chichester. The evidence shows an active parliamentarian with a substantial record of scrutiny and constituency advocacy.

Parliamentary work: credit where due

Brown-Fuller secured and opened a Westminster Hall debate on access to dental services in West Sussex on 16 June 2026, putting local access problems directly before ministers. WATCH's wider Sussex MP audit records her as having very high parliamentary output, efficient costs and sustained constituency advocacy.

Money and declared interests

WATCH reviewed Brown-Fuller's current Register of Members' Financial Interests, including declared political support and hospitality. The register includes a £5,000 donation from Adam Management Holdings Ltd and hospitality from the Goodwood Estate Company valued at £444.

These are declared interests. Their existence is not evidence of wrongdoing, improper influence or a breach of the rules. WATCH has found no evidence that would justify such an allegation.

What WATCH asked

Our questions concerned transparency rather than an assumed adverse finding: Brown-Fuller's pre-parliamentary background, relationships with significant or repeat supporters, any relevant meetings or representations involving Adam Management Holdings, Goodwood-related representations, and any other interests voters should reasonably understand when assessing her record.

Right of reply

WATCH first contacted Brown-Fuller on 4 September 2026 and sent a final follow-up on 10 September with a firm editorial cut-off of 17:00 on 14 September.

No substantive response had been received by that deadline. A further WATCH Sussex Proton inbox check at 20:14 on 14 September also found no substantive response.

That fact is recorded for transparency. It is not evidence against the MP, and it does not increase the severity of any finding. Any material late response will be assessed and added fairly and in context.

Conclusion

The available evidence supports a positive assessment of Brown-Fuller's parliamentary activity. It does not support treating properly declared donations or hospitality as wrongdoing. The outstanding issue is simply that the transparency questions WATCH put to her were unanswered at the editorial cut-off.
